Poreč Sports Day Crowned the Most Successful Poreč Athletes
At the Poreč Sports Day ceremony, held this year at the Poreč Theatre, the best athletes of 2022 were announced: the best team was the Women’s Bowling Club Istra, the best men’s team was the Boćarski Club Istra Poreč, Nataša Ravnić from the Women’s Bowling Club Istra was named the best female athlete, while the best male athlete was Bruno Kraljić from the Boćarski Club Istra Poreč.
Leonardo Komšić from the Kickboxing Club King was awarded the Best Coach, the most active sports association was the Jadran Table Tennis Club, the most active sports worker was Branka Poropat from the Basketball Club Poreč, and Eva Leona Komšić from the Kickboxing Club King was named the most promising female athlete. Tomislav Bošnjak from the Handball Club Poreč received recognition for his outstanding sporting achievements.
Road to Awards
The Women’s Bowling Club Istra, as a member of the 1st Croatian Women’s Bowling League, won second place at the Croatian Championship, as well as second place at the European Cup, and the semi-finals of the Croatian Cup in the past year. The coach is Ružica Močibob, and the team members are Marijana Liović, Nataša Ravnić, Valentina Pavlaković, Dora Štetić, Maja Nanić, Katarina Zajec, Nika Štetić, Katja Oplanić, and Tea Štetić.
The Boćarski Club Istra Poreč won second place in the 1st Croatian Boćarski League in the 21/22 season, and second place in the European Champions Cup. The coaches are Dražen Puniš and Sandro Jurman, and the team members are Nenad Tadić, Ivan Lukšić, Darijan Živolić, Vedran Špelić, Mateo Načinović, Bruno Kraljić, Roland Marčelja, Marino Križmanić, Dino Jermaniš, Roko Jukić, Filip Popović, and Elvis Smolica.
Nataša Ravnić won a bronze medal with the Croatian national team at the team World Championships in Poland, was named the best Croatian bowler for 2021 by the Croatian Bowling Federation, won first place in the European Cup with the club, second place in the 1st Croatian Bowling League, and second place in the individual standings of players at the European Cup.
Bruno Kraljić took second place in the European Champions Cup, second place in the Super Croatian Bowling League, and was the most effective bowler in the club in 2022.
The most promising young athlete, Eva Leona Komšić from the King Kickboxing Club, won first place in the Junior World Championship, as well as the Croatian Championship in kick light up to 55 kg.
Other promising athletes include Francesca Bernobić and Luka Košeto from the Maximvs Athletic Club, Filip Popović from the Istra Bowling Club, Dorijan Bubičić from the Hrvački Club, Lucija Jozić and Petar Puškarić from the Finida Karate Club, Stefano Pišta from the Jadran Football Club, Gresa Ramadani from the Rhythmic and Sports Gymnastics Club, Nika Štetić from the Istra Women’s Bowling Club, David Mahne and Valerija Mijatović from the Špada Fencing Club, Luka Malinarić from the Poreč Handball Club, Ana Bobanović and Mauro Bobanović from the Long Distance Swimming and Sports Recreation Club, Nika Fornažar and David Nicoletti from the Horizont Sailing Club, and Mateo Jures from the Istra Judo Club.
Tomislav Bošnjak, a member of the Poreč Handball Club, received an award for his outstanding sporting achievement – winning a gold medal at the Summer Deaflympics in Brazil.
The awards were presented by the mayor, Loris Peršurić, and his deputies, Elio Štifanić and Ugo Musizza, the president of the City Council, Zoran Rabar, and the deputy president, Nensi Beato Baturić, the head of the Department of Social Activities and Sports, Vesna Kordić, the deputy president of the Sports Association of the City of Poreč, Dalibor Jakovčić, and the president of the Supervisory Board, Kristijan Klarić.
The members of the USB Poreč dance group, as well as the Finida Karate Club and the Poreč Art School, have embellished the performances of the Poreč Sports Day.
