Vinistra and Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Poreč in May
May marks the beginning of the wine season in Istria, as Poreč hosts the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the world’s largest wine competition. This is the first time that such an event has been held in Croatia and this part of Europe. The competition follows the popular Vinistra exhibition, which will be held from May 5 to 7, while the judging will take place from May 11 to 14 at the Žatika Hall. Ten thousand wine samples from 50 countries will be evaluated by judges who are journalists, sommeliers, oenologists, traders and importers from all over the world.
Hosting this event is the perfect opportunity for local winemakers to showcase the quality of their wines on the global stage. In addition, May in Poreč will be all about wine and good food, with details of the accompanying events to be announced in due course via media and social networks. These were the topics discussed during a working meeting between representatives of the Vinistra Association, the exhibition’s president Luka Rossi and director Ivan Marić, and Poreč Mayor Loris Peršurić.
