Walk and Be Healthy: More Than 400 Walkers Enjoyed Joint Exercise and Socializing
More than 400 walkers enjoyed a joint exercise and socializing at the “Walk and Be Healthy” (Hoditi i zdravi biti) 2023 event held in Poreč, Croatia. The public health event organized by the Institute of Public Health of Istrian County saw walkers gather in 10 cities in Istria after a COVID break.
On Saturday, April 22, more than 400 people walked along the beautiful Poreč lungomare from the Municipal Court to Zelena Laguna. Participants started gathering at 9 am at the Poreč Municipal Court, excited to receive their new t-shirts with the event logo, which they will add to their collection of colorful t-shirts from previous years. The Naftaplin area was soon flooded with orange-clad walkers of all ages, from babies in strollers with their families, to children running around with yellow and blue balloons, to adults, seniors, and people with disabilities, and even pets. The organizers were delighted to welcome ten walkers from the Brkač Adult Care Home, including their friends and fellow residents of Poreč.
The orange color of the walkers blended in with the spring greenery, drawing admiration and photographs from passersby, including tourists. At the end of the cheerful journey filled with activities, laughter, stories, and socializing, which people missed due to the pandemic, a lunch with bean soup awaited the walkers at Ski Lift.
