Modernizing Waste Management in Poreč with New Fleet and Equipment

The public utility company Usluga Poreč has significantly upgraded its infrastructure, including the acquisition of new vehicles and equipment to improve waste management in the city. Given the challenges posed by seasonal tourism variations, this investment aims to maintain a high level of service year-round.

Upgraded Fleet and Advanced Systems

Over the past two years, Usluga Poreč has renewed its fleet with a total of 13 municipal vehicles of various capacities, designed for collecting all types of waste. Additionally, from May to July this year, seven new vehicles were delivered.

The new municipal vehicles are equipped with advanced chip identification systems, enabling precise tracking and recording of collected waste. They also feature bin-washing systems to ensure high hygiene standards are maintained.

Specialized Vehicles for Efficient Service

Two specialized flatbed trucks have been procured, one of which has a built-in crane for emptying underground and semi-underground containers and separately collecting paper and cardboard in the city center. A new self-loading truck for bulky waste removal using large containers has also been acquired, ensuring quick and accessible service for residents.

To maintain the cleanliness of streets and squares and collect waste from baskets, a new street sweeper and a small tipper truck – a Piaggio – have been purchased. Besides waste management, Usluga Poreč regularly maintains green areas, mowing over 7 million square meters of green spaces annually.
