Street Art Poreč 2024: Six Days of Music, Dance, and Acrobatics

The highly anticipated Street Art Poreč 2024 returns, invigorating the city’s summer atmosphere for the 24th consecutive year. Running from August 20th to 25th, this dynamic event, organized by the Poreč Open University, promises six days filled with music, dance, acrobatics, and various artistic performances.

Festival Kickoff: Music Takes Center Stage

On August 20th, the festival begins with a focus on music. The Lungomare promenade will resonate with the sounds of techno duo DBFB, who will perform their “Ambiance And Dub Techno Selections” starting at 8 PM, representing the newly formed ETER association. Simultaneously, Italian saxophonist Igor Marino will fill the city streets with jazz melodies, while Music on the Square takes over Trg Slobode with a performance by Summertime Acoustic Duo. The evening will culminate at the city waterfront with the TECHNO VIKINGS saxophone quartet, set to get the crowd dancing.

Dance and Jazz Highlight the Midweek

On Wednesday, August 21st, Trg Slobode becomes the stage for a dance performance titled “Between Us,” delivered by the MOT 08 Performance Art Studio. Meanwhile, the 29th Jazz in Lapidarium features the Branimir Gazdik Quintet, who will present their latest album, which has been nominated for the prestigious Porin Award.

Acrobatics and Mythology Set the Stage on Thursday

Thursday, August 22nd, kicks off with an educational walking tour, “La Mula de Parenzo Tour,” exploring the city’s history. The evening brings a spectacular acrobatic performance by Andrej Tomše at Trg Slobode. Later, the former Roxy bar terrace will host the audiovisual concert “Vuk i Ptica,” introducing the audience to Slavic mythology.

Weekend: Guitar Concerts, Dance, and Cinema Under the Stars

Friday, August 23rd, features the dance performance “Can You Hear Yourself?” at Trg Slobode. Guitar students from Xhevdet Sahatxija’s Summer School will perform a concert as part of the 63rd Concerts in Euphrasian Basilica. The evening wraps up with a screening of the movie “Elvis” at the outdoor cinema.

Saturday, August 24th, brings a concert by DJ Maestro and Jakša Jordes Sax at Trg Slobode. The festival concludes on Sunday, August 25th, with an interactive physical performance by Valter Roša at Trg Slobode, followed by an introspective DJ performance by Stephanie Prekali.
