Poreč has unveiled a packed autumn schedule filled with diverse cultural, sports, and gourmet events from September to November. These events aim to enhance the city’s appeal to both locals and visitors.

Wine City and Local Products Showcase

The season kicks off with the Wine City Poreč event (Vinski grad), from September 19 to 29, held in the scenic Olga Ban Park. Wine enthusiasts can indulge in premium local wines. On September 19, Istrian Indigenous Products Fair will take place at the main square, showcasing the region’s finest local produce from various family farms.

On September 20, the Gušti merkata event at the city market will offer freshly prepared local dishes, accompanied by live music. For food and wine lovers, November brings Cabernet Sauvignon & Blue Fish weekends, where local restaurants will pair blue fish delicacies with exquisite wines.

Sports Events: From Cycling to Ironman

Sports enthusiasts can look forward to several events. Poreč Loves Bike, a recreational cycling event, is scheduled for September 22. From September 27 to October 12, the Valamar Cup Wrestling Tournament will be held at the Finida sports hall.

The renowned cycling race Istria300 returns to Poreč from September 26 to 29, featuring routes through stunning Istrian landscapes and an engaging expo. The Alpe Adria Jet Ski Tour 2024 will take place on October 5-6, followed by the Veterans’ World Wrestling Championships from October 8 to 13. The highlight for triathletes, the Plava Laguna Ironman 70.3, will take place on October 20.

Cultural Highlights and Autumn Fairs

The cultural scene includes a concert by the Zagreb Soloists at Euphrasian Basilica on September 27, alongside free historical tours of Poreč for World Tourism Day. Comedy lovers can catch stand-up performances from Ivan Šarić, Ivica Lazaneo, and Splicka Scena in November.

In addition, the Žatika Hall will host autumn fairs like PromoArh, Sport Fest Poreč, and Crofish, as well as the Days of Croatian Cuisine from November 10 to 16.

City Leaders on Autumn Events

Nenad Velenik, Director of the Poreč Tourist Board, emphasized the importance of these events in enhancing the city’s tourist offerings. Mayor Loris Peršurić noted that this rich program reflects Poreč’s ongoing commitment to developing its tourist potential, offering something for everyone.
