Advent Poreč 2024: Free Ice Skating, Concerts & Nativity Scene
Advent Poreč is back for 2024, bringing festive cheer to the historic town center from December 6, 2024, to January 6, 2025. With over 100 events planned, this year promises a packed program featuring free ice skating, live nativity scenes, children’s performances, and much more.
A Festival for Everyone: Concerts, Kids’ Events, and Community
Poreč Mayor Loris Peršurić highlighted the community’s efforts to include everyone in the festivities. “We’ve raised the bar every year since we started. This year’s program includes concerts, performances, and activities that cater to all ages, from children’s plays to a free ice rink,” said Peršurić. The Advent season will kick off with a light-up ceremony on December 6.
In addition to popular attractions like free ice skating, there will be numerous holiday events including over 30 concerts, live nativity reenactments, and four New Year’s celebrations. For younger audiences, “Porečka bajka” will provide special performances and gift giveaways for over 1,700 children from December 16 to 20.
Highlights for New Year’s Celebrations in Poreč
One of the biggest draws of Advent Poreč will be its multiple New Year’s Eve events. The main stage at Trg Slobode will feature Dalmatino and Gustafi, while Trg Matije Gupca hosts a separate party with Vojko V. Families can enjoy a kids’ countdown at noon, followed by fireworks and entertainment. To cap off the holiday spirit, a “reprise” New Year’s celebration is scheduled for January 1.
Valamar’s Tina Živković emphasized their commitment to providing quality family-friendly experiences. From music acts like Jole and Miach to children’s activities, the lineup will keep audiences entertained throughout the season.
Traditional and New Events to Explore
Community partners, including Plava Laguna, are adding new features to this year’s festivities. In addition to the ice rink, Plava Laguna will host beloved events like “Slatko jutro” and free Christmas Eve brunch for locals. Another exciting addition is an Istrian soup-making competition on December 28.
For those interested in exploring local flavors, the advent stalls will offer seasonal treats and refreshments. Visitors can also take advantage of a free holiday train ride through Poreč, making it easy to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Advent.
Advent Poreč partners include the City of Poreč, the Poreč Tourist Board, Plava Laguna, Valamar, and local schools and organizations. For full program details, visit adventporec.com or follow their Facebook page at Advent Poreč.
