Valamar is transforming Croatian tourism with its €139 million Valamar Pical Resort 5*, opening in 2026. The resort, situated in Poreč, will enhance tourism, economic development, and public infrastructure, providing significant benefits for both locals and visitors.
A €139 Million Investment to Transform Poreč’s Pical Zone
Poreč’s Pical area will soon be Croatia’s premier tourist zone. Valamar Pical Resort 5* will feature 514 rooms and numerous luxury amenities, supporting year-round tourism and creating over 700 jobs. This investment will boost the local community’s quality of life. Planned infrastructure includes promenades, bike paths, beaches, and pools, all accessible to tourists and locals.
Valamar CEO Željko Kukurin noted the resort’s impact: “Pical Resort will contribute around €3 million annually to Poreč’s budget, strengthening the local economy.”
World-Class Facilities for Leisure and Business Travelers
Valamar Pical Resort 5* will appeal to luxury, family, and business travelers. With 8 themed restaurants, including Michelin-starred options, and 10 bars, the resort will elevate dining in Poreč. The Balance Spa, covering 1,300 square meters, will offer premium relaxation. Maro World, a 1,200-square-meter play area, will be the region’s largest unstructured play space for kids.
The resort’s 1,200-person congress center will be the largest in Istria, creating a year-round venue for conferences and events and helping boost Poreč’s congress tourism.
Recreation and Infrastructure for the Community
The Pical Resort project emphasizes recreational facilities available to the community, including upgraded beaches, jogging paths, and the new Bike Center Poreč. Locals and visitors will enjoy access to the Pical Beach, water sports center, and other recreational options. The project also enhances sports infrastructure, providing training facilities for local youth and sports clubs.
