Promohotel 2025: Thousands of Visitors Arrive in Poreč

Poreč has officially kicked off the 2025 tourism season with the grand opening of Promohotel, celebrating its 40th edition. This highly anticipated event, held at the Žatika Hall, spans an impressive 5,000 m² of exhibition space, featuring over 500 leading brands from the HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) sector. Over 150 international exhibitors are showcasing the latest in hospitality innovation, with a special emphasis on diverse culinary offerings.
A Platform for Innovation and Knowledge Sharing
The Promohotel Expo has grown into one of the most important platforms for the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industries. As the mayor of Poreč, Loris Peršurić, noted during the opening, “Promohotel strives every year to be better, to support the tourism and hospitality sector, and to showcase innovations to keep up with future challenges.” He also emphasized that Poreč and Istria are at the forefront of tourism innovations, in part due to events like Promohotel.
Among the key attractions this year are Michelin-starred chefs, world champions in pizza-making, and seasoned international restaurateurs who have come to Poreč to share their expertise. Visitors can also enjoy the Croatian Caputo Pizza Cup, where top pizza chefs from around the world will compete and demonstrate their skills. The pizza competition on Thursday, March 6th, at Žatika Hall will be open to the public, offering attendees the chance to taste some of the finest pizzas prepared by talented pizzaiola.
Promohotel: A Key Driver of Regional Tourism Growth
Boris Miletić, the County Mayor of Istria, expressed his pride in having such a prestigious event in the region, saying, “Without quality equipment, innovation, and investment, we would not be such a sought-after destination in the Mediterranean and Europe.” This sentiment reflects how events like Promohotel are crucial in positioning Istria as a leading destination in both tourism and the hospitality sector.
The event’s continued growth is evident. From humble beginnings with just a few hundred square meters of exhibition space, the expo now spans 5,000 m² and draws a global audience. Ivana Štiković, Promohotel’s director, noted, “Promohotel has become much more than a regular fair. With the positive atmosphere we create, I believe that what we do brings value to everyone, including the region, the city of Poreč, and our citizens.”
Networking, Education, and the Future of Tourism
Promohotel not only offers a space for networking and discovering the latest products and services but also provides educational opportunities through the Education Point program. This expert-led initiative covers important topics such as sustainability, human resources, artificial intelligence, and sales strategies in the hospitality industry. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore how gastronomy contributes to the development of tourist destinations, how to enhance experiential tourism, and how to use digital channels to attract guests.
The expo is free to attend with prior registration at promohotel.hr, providing visitors with an accessible way to stay on top of industry trends. The event is organized by Studio 053, with support from major sponsors, including the City of Poreč, Istrian County, and the Tourist Board of Istria.
