kukci nova vas bicycle path 2023

Project for the construction of a bicycle-pedestrian path from the settlement of Kukci to the settlement of Nova Vas has been initiated. The project documentation has already been drawn up and the location permit obtained.

The path is planned to be about 2 km long, along the county road ŽC 5042 and is a continuation of the path that leads from Poreč to the settlement of Kukci.

The profile will consist of a protective green belt along the roadway and a common bicycle-pedestrian asphalt surface with a total width of 4.50 meters. Cable ducting for public lighting and electronic communication infrastructure will be laid in the track corridor. Each transition from the sidewalk to the road level will be provided with a transition ramp for safer accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. In addition, the intervention area will be equipped with traffic signs and signaling, a user counter, an air quality sensor, smart benches and baskets, cameras and a bus waiting room, and all installed equipment will be powered by solar energy. As protection from high summer temperatures, trees will be planted along the path, and Mediterranean plants and bushes will be planted in the rest area.

The project is in the phase of obtaining a building permit. It will be submitted to a competition for funding from European funds, that is, at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026.
