Diocese of Poreč and Pula Received a New Bishop

Mons. Ivan Štironja, until now the bishop of Kotor from Montenegro, is the new bishop of the Diocese of Poreč and Pula.

The Apostolic Nunciature in the Republic of Croatia has the honor to announce that the Holy Father Francis has appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Poreč and Pula, Mons. Ivan Štironja, the former bishop of Kotor in Montenegro – the Diocese of Poreč and Pula published on its website.

As a reminder, Istria has been without a bishop since Dražen Kutleša was transferred to the Split-Makar Archdiocese in 2020, where he was appointed archbishop.
