The Intermediate Bypass Road is Being Completed, Special Traffic Regulation Soon
The second phase of the construction of the Poreč intermediate bypass road in the Facinka business zone is being completed, which will connect Vukovarska Street (Poreč – Varvari road) with Mate Vlašića Street. From February 13 to the beginning of April, the section from the roundabout in the Varvari settlement to the one near the Žatika hall (Parens) will be closed to traffic. The detour route is determined by a bypass via the roundabout Veli Vrh (Košambra) and the roundabout near the cemetery in Žatika.
The main task of the intermediate bypass road is to relieve existing traffic routes – the Poreč bypass road and Mate Vlašića Street, especially during the summer months.
The first phase was built in 2018, when the new Finida Elementary School was opened. The first phase connects the Finida Elementary School with the area of shopping centers in Mate Vlašića Street. In the second phase, the section of the bypass from Vukovarska Street (Poreč – Varvari road) through Facinka along the Metro to Mate Vlašića Street was paved, and the pedestrian and bicycle communication via the bridge connecting the Facinka zone with the Varvari settlement, from the zone to the settlement, was paved and lighted.
For the completion of the intermediate bypass in full profile, the last, third phase is now coming, which will connect the settlements of Gonji Špadići and Gulići with the Finida Elementary School, parallel to the existing bypass. With this, the intermediate bypass road in its full profile will further increase traffic standards in the city of Poreč, the city administration hopes. It will be possible to access the Facinka business zone from several different directions, which will enable greater traffic flow, greater safety for all road users and easier access to the required locations, they conclude.
