Vinistra Wine Expo in Poreč Opens with Over 80 Istrian Winemakers
The 29th Vinistra is now open in Poreč, featuring over 80 Istrian winemakers. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a rich program and a great turnout of visitors, including many foreign tourists. Vinistra has become a must-visit wine spectacle.
This year, the event is different, with winemakers promoting their wines on unified stands, as part of the preparations for the famous Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the world-renowned wine competition that will bring together over 350 judges next week.
These two major wine events confirm Istria’s status as an exceptionally attractive and respected wine region, and much of the credit for that goes to Vinistra, a highly professional association of Istrian grape growers and winemakers. The association received congratulations from Minister of Agriculture Marija Vučković, who represented the Prime Minister, emphasizing that behind every goal lies hard work and dedication.
Joining in the congratulations is Boris Miletić, the County Prefect of Istria, who thanked Vinistra for bringing together Istrian winemakers for the past three decades and promoting Malvasia and Teran, which are synonymous with Istria for many.
The Mayor of Poreč, Loris Peršurić, highlighted that Vinistra is not just an exhibition of wines and winemaking equipment but also a brand for Poreč and Istria. Meanwhile, Jelena Đugum, Director of the Agriculture Department at the Croatian Chamber of Economy, noted that the upcoming Concours Mondial de Bruxelless, which is taking place in Croatia for the first time, is the best confirmation of Vinistra’s successful work.
It has been an intense period for Vinistra, and its president, Luka Rossi, confirmed that.
The most attractive wine event in the region runs until Sunday, May 7th, and offers a rich program and exceptional wines, including this year’s champions from Vinistra’s wine competition held in April.
A one-day ticket costs 25 euros, plus a refundable deposit of 10 euros for a glass. This year, you can also buy tickets online, and Vinistra is giving a 5-euro voucher to use at the rich pop-up wine shop in Žatika.
