Poreč Market Reconstruction Project Introduced
Yesterday, the main project presentation for the reconstruction of the Poreč City Market took place at Usluga Poreč premises.
The reconstruction of the open-air section of the city market is a continuation of a systematic investment that has already included the refurbishment of the fish market, partial roof repairs, replacement of entrance doors to the indoor market, and the installation of new aluminum windows. Currently, the installation of cooling, heating, and ventilation systems is underway for the indoor section of the market. The replacement of the exterior façade of the remaining administrative building and business premises is planned to take place after the tourist season.
The meeting was attended by Luka Maleš, the director of Usluga Poreč, along with his colleagues from the Commercial Services Department, led by Siniša Terlević. The Mayor of Poreč, Loris Peršurić, was also present, accompanied by municipal department heads Marina Poropat, responsible for the municipal system, and Damir Hrvatin, responsible for spatial planning. The presentation was conducted by architect Alan Kostrenčić from the architectural studio Kostrenčić and Krebel Architects Ltd.
“The city of Poreč has always been committed to preserving tradition and strengthening our local identity, and the City Market represents the heart of our community. The market’s renovation is not just an investment in infrastructure, but also in our past, present, and future. This investment plays a crucial role in creating a sustainable community and developing our tourist offerings,” said Luka Maleš.
Visitors to Poreč can anticipate an enriched market atmosphere, blending tradition and modernity, where they can explore the diverse range of goods, interact with locals, and immerse themselves in the authentic flavors of our region.
