Darko Pupovac Memorial Handball Tournament in Poreč on January 19-22

The Darko Pupovac Memorial, a traditional tournament organized by the Poreč Handball Club in January, is returning to Poreč. From January 19 to 22, four foreign handball clubs will arrive in Poreč, and along with the host Poreč, the Croatian vice-champion.
Telekom Veszprém, the current champion of Hungary and a long-time participant in the FINAL4 tournament of the Champions League, is certainly a real treat for all handball fans, in whose ranks our own Manuel Štrlek also plays. NEKA, a development club for young talents that competes in the first Hungarian league, also comes from Hungary. From neighboring Slovenia comes Dobova, a well-known club to everyone in Istria and beyond, and from Austria comes the SC Fivers WAT Margaretten club, which missed out on the finals of the domestic championship after the sevens lottery and is competing in the EHF Cup this season. Croatian colors will be defended at the tournament by the Croatian vice-champion and participant in the final tournament of the European League, NEXE with many famous faces from Poreč, and the host, Poreč.
All the matches of the tournament will be played in the Veli Jože hall over four days, while the additional training matches, as well as the match for fifth place, will be played in the hall of the Valamar Diamant hotel. Six clubs are divided into two groups.
Group A consists of Nexe, NEKA and Fivers, while group B includes Veszprem, Poreč and Dobova. On the last day of the tournament, the finals and the third and fifth place matches are scheduled.
