Invitation to Artists for Street Art Poreč Festival

Poreč Open University (Pučko otvoreno učilište) is once again offering an opportunity for all artistic souls to express their music, theater, dance, visual arts, and other forms of creativity at the 23rd Street Art Festival, taking place from August 17th to 23rd, 2023.

The entire city becomes a stage, and all passersby are essential participants in this vibrant street art festival. Performers entertain, amuse, and astonish people during the warmest and liveliest month of summer, while also encouraging them to broaden their own horizons of knowledge.

Whether artists by profession, vocation, or hobby, they have the chance to enrich the city with always fresh, entertaining, and, above all, conceptually and artistically high-quality content. Regardless of their previous experience and education, all those eager to express their world of ideas can present and share their creative programs.

Artists can submit their applications throughout the year, but it is recommended to apply during this period, just before the selection and the festival itself, by August 1st, 2023, through the online application form here.

The university reserves the right to invite participants and selection will be based on realistic possibilities. Performers will be notified of the results no later than August 1st, 2023.

Since 2001, the festival has successfully revitalized, inspired, and colored the core of Poreč. Artists who wish to participate can present their programs at suggested locations, such as the city market, the main Freedom Square, the city waterfront, Lungomare promenade, Matija Gubec Square, and the lapidarium of the Poreč Heritage Museum. Suggestions for other lesser-known but intriguing and diverse urban spaces, such as the bus station or Vijala promenade, will also be considered based on their desirability, necessity, and unique concept. The festival particularly focuses on organizing a dance performance showcase (solo, duet, trio, dance groups) with individual acts lasting up to 10 minutes.
